@RenegadeXavier Thank you so much. High school age is a good time to begin learning about the financial world. By avoiding some temptations such as credit card debt, life can be much more enjoyable.

@Featureman You are a very wise and honorable man. I am in High School currently, and want to learn how to run a business, and the Stock Market really interested me after my teacher in my business class started talking about it, and your tutorial's are really interesting, and I subbed. Have a nice day.

@Featureman Thanks for replying and taking a look. Having done a bit of reading tonight I think the 7.5p is the 'par value'. I could be wrong though.

@CaptainStern2 Most shares are ordinary shares. I do not know where a number like 7.5 came from. The Google Finance page shows majestic Wine at about $230-250 in Feb of 2010 and up about 305 since then. I know nothing about the company but the 7.5 seems inaccurate. Thanks.

Very informative videos. I have a certificate from Majestic Wine which says I have 'ordinary shares' worth 7.5p as of Feb 2010 but when I look up the company on yahoo finance it says they were worth around 230p that same month. What gives?

My thanks too for this great video. I have a question:you wrote : "if it is a stock that has a very low volume, your purchase or sale will affect the price. By buying it nudges the price up a little".Is that mean that buy selling this low volumed stock right away, it will give you some money? I understand that the difference is almost equal to zero, or not?

@Jugdesi I would not recommend getting into the market in that case. There is no guarantee you will make money in the market in any given year. The market is for investing money which you can afford to lose. I would never listen to those people who will try to tell you they will make you rich quickly. Good luck with your investing. |
